Within 10 minutes walk throught the forest is Go Ape, where you can swing through the trees like a monkey. The Dean Heritage Centre is a 5 minute drive away in Soudley and the Dean Forest Railway and Norchard Steam Centre are also about 5 minutes drive away in Parkend. The Beechenhurst Sculpture Trail, Puzzlewood with its pre Roman opencast iron ore mine and unusual maze and internationall renowned Mary Rose Young Pottery are a similar distance away. Around 15 minutes drive from Danby Lodge is Chepstow with it’s Castle and Racecourses. All Saints Church in Newland, known as ‘The Cathedral of The Forest and Tintern Abbey are also highly recommended.
